B.S. Information Technology – Information Security

In May of 2021, in the middle of a global pandemic, I graduated from George Mason University. Completing my final year and a half fully online was not easy. I persevered through my studies to graduate with honors, all while being a stay-at-home father to my two young children.

While studying I.T., I was introduced to many new topics under the information/cyber security world. I excelled in courses such as Security Administration of Linux Systems, Network Security, Security Accreditation of Information Systems, Systems Analysis and Design, Data Communication and Networking Principles, and Information Defense Technologies.

While I enjoyed all of my courses, my favorite would be Information Defense Technologies. This gave me real world examples of how our military uses technology to defend our great nation against physical attacks, cyber terrorism, asymmetric warfare, etc. This course confirmed that I made a great decision transitioning into the information/cyber security field.
